In this role, you will be the go-to expert for tax topics across our European affiliates, helping teams navigate both indirect and direct tax questions with confidence. You will provide practical guidance on complex tax matters with the support of our external tax advisor and work closely with our Corporate Tax Department to promote compliant, efficient, and harmonized tax processes across the region.

What you’ll be responsible for:

 

Tax Advisory & Expertise

• Act as the central point of contact for tax-related topics across European affiliates, covering both indirect and direct taxes (e.g. VAT, CIT, withholding tax, etc.)

• Provide hands-on  support to Finance teams on complex tax matters, including tax treatment, rulings, and interpretation of local and EU regulations

• Ensure consistent and compliant tax treatment across affiliates by reviewing and challenging applied tax positions

• Contribute as tax subject matter expert to Finance Excellence transformation and process initiatives (e.g. e-invoicing, SAF-T, cross-border flows), ensuring correct tax treatment, compliance, and risk mitigation

 

Compliance Monitoring & Risk Management

• Cooperate with service providers to ensure proper overview about tax-related regulatory changes, impact analysis, and implementation of appropriate solutions across Europe

• Monitor overall tax compliance status across affiliates (e.g. VAT, CIT), identify risks, and escalate critical issues

• Ensure tax compliance within the Risk Control Matrix for Tax and Customs and the annual tax and customs reporting across European affiliates

 

Process Harmonization & Continuous Improvement

• Support the harmonization of tax processes and controls across affiliates, including

documentation, training, and best practice sharing.

• Drive continuous improvement of tax-related processes, controls, and compliance frameworks.

 

Audit & External Advisor Coordination

• Support tax audits by advising on approach, reviewing positions, and coordinating responses in collaboration with local teams and external advisors

• Coordinate and manage external tax advisor support across Europe, ensuring efficient usage and cost control

 

Corporate & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as key interface to Corporate Tax Department to ensure alignment with Group tax policies and requirements.

Job requirements

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or equivalent.

• 5+ years of relevant and hands-on experience in tax (e.g. Big4, local tax advisory firms, or in-house tax department).

• Strong expertise in indirect taxes (VAT) and solid knowledge of direct taxes (CIT, withholding tax).

• Experience in tax advisory, tax rulings, and interpretation of tax regulations.

• Strong understanding of finance processes and their tax implications (P2P, R2R, cross-border transactions).

• Experience working with and coordinating external tax advisors.

• Ability to translate complex tax regulations into practical business solutions.

• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to manage complexity across multiple countries.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence finance and business stakeholders.

• Ability to work effectively in a remote, international environment.

• Fluent written and spoken English; additional European languages are a plus.

• Willingness to occasionally travel.
